Hello, wonderful people!
First off, I’d like to thank all of you who have taken the time out to read these excerpts. I know I have been mysteriously posting them with no explanation of what’s actually going on in my life. So now, I’d like to take this opportunity to let you in.
I finally have a little break from the publishing process of my book, Wounded Wisteria, as editors currently dissect it. About a week after receiving the news of this break, I had one of those glorious moments every writer knows. That moment where you get an idea...that turns into characters...then an entire plot line. For three whole days, I shut myself up in my apartment writing non-stop, only leaving to move my car so my neighbors wouldn't think I was dead. This new story was all I could think about. When I woke up in the morning, I needed to know what happened next. Before I went to bed, I wondered what happened next. Although I had been working on a different piece that I assumed would be my second published work, it was put on hold because I simply couldn't deal with not knowing what. happened. next.
Do you know how frustrating it is, to want information you could only get out of... well, you? I have absolutely no idea how long this story will consume me. I may not let it go until it’s finished, or I may get distracted by another idea (which often happens).
Anyway, the point is, because I've finally come up with a story I might just like enough to publish one day, that means there will be less of these excerpts from my so-called imaginary books. HOWEVER, while I allow this story to take over my life, I will also try to post more of these ‘Notes from Maithy’ and keep you updated as best I can. Wounded Wisteria is moving along quite nicely and I am doing my best to remain calm when reminded of how close it is to being introduced to the world!
'til next time,
